My Riverside

My Creed

My personal creed:

I will believe that with God ALL things are possible.

I will be a servant in the Body of Christ the Church.

I will trust and be accountable to other followers of Christ.

I will read the Bible first and foremost before any other book.

I will love others and see their souls, before condemning their sins.

I will love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength.

I will live and breath forgiveness, while standing up for what is right in Gods eyes.

I will pray so that the Holy Spirit will be enabled to work through me to reach others.

I will abstain from the use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs and attempt to avoid all appearance of evil.

I will pray so that the Holy Spirit will be enabled to work through me to reach others.

I will live as someone bound for a Higher, Holy, Heavenly place.

I will uphold motherhood as the highest calling of a woman.

I will apologise more easily than criticize.

I will deny myself for the sake of Christ.

I wrote the above creed in response to my own questions late one evening.

Is our God politically correct?

How much of what we believe is tainted by our own worldliness?

Does membership in a church still reflect mutual accountability?

Do we realize that Christianity is truly an intolerant faith in that it excludes any way to God but through Christ?

What do we, in the so-called free world, deny ourselves for the sake of Christ?

Have we read so many other books other than the Bible and studied under so many various teachers and professors other than Christ that we no longer see Scripture clearly?

Do others in our conference and church abstain from the use of alcohol and other drugs for simple reasons such as their destructive capabilities?

Do we honestly believe, teach and practise the sanctity of all human life as families, churches and as a conference, outside of wartime?
